Recently, a customized 8m×12.5m large CNC gantry milling machine, commissioned by Tangshan Yuexin Machinery Co., Ltd., completed its assembly in the production workshop. The main body of the equipment, the gantry beam, the moving worktable, and the lifting equipment are all in place, marking a significant milestone in this customized machining equipment project.

This customized CNC gantry milling machine has a machining stroke of 8 meters × 12.5 meters, classifying it as a large-span heavy-duty CNC machining equipment. It is primarily used for milling and boring large welded structural components and castings/forgings. From the on-site photos, it can be seen that the gantry main unit is in place, and the red double-beam overhead crane has been installed simultaneously. Workshop operators are currently assembling and debugging the various components of the equipment. Once operational, this equipment will be able to handle the machining of ultra-large heavy-duty workpieces, meeting the production needs of mining equipment, construction machinery, steel structure bases, and boom-type components.

During the project's implementation phase, Tangshan Yuexin Machinery conducted multiple rounds of technical communication with the equipment supplier, verifying solutions for parameters such as the load-bearing capacity, movement accuracy, and processing range of the large-span gantry milling machine. The assembly process for large gantry milling machines is complex, with high installation requirements for aspects such as beam hoisting, column alignment, worktable leveling, and transmission component installation. The workshop assembly team followed the assembly drawings step-by-step, completing a series of tasks including foundation positioning, main structure assembly, pipeline laying, and installation of supporting lifting facilities.

During the assembly process, staff continuously checked the docking status of each component, verifying key assembly data such as levelness and clearance distances to reduce the risk of deviations during later equipment operation. After the entire machine is assembled, the next step is to power on and debug the equipment, sequentially testing various functions such as worktable movement, spindle operation, and CNC system response. Once the debugging and testing are passed, the equipment can be officially put into workpiece processing production.
