The core of the Cold Bed consists of a bed frame, conveying mechanism, cooling system, and control system. The bed frame is welded from H-shaped steel and stress-relieved through aging treatment, with a load capacity of up to 80 tons. The conveying mechanism is available in stepping and chain types; the stepping beams are made of 40Cr steel, heat-treated for wear resistance and smooth operation. The conveying speed is adjustable from 0.1-1m/min, adapting to different billet specifications. The cooling system utilizes forced air ventilation or water mist cooling, with a temperature control accuracy of ±5℃, preventing uneven cooling and cracking of the billets.
The Cold Bed integrates temperature sensors and a PLC system to monitor billet temperature and conveying position in real time, supporting linkage with the rolling line. The bed surface is equipped with guiding and positioning devices to prevent billet displacement.
